On 16th August 2013, Ambassador of Lithuania Mrs. Asta Skaisgirytė Liauškienė met with His Emminence Archbishop Mor Athanasius Touma Dakkama, leader of the Syrian Orthodox Church Centre in the UK.
Issues related religious freedom and tolerance, universal values and inter-faith dialogue with religious communities and orders in Lithuania were discussed during the meeting. “Lithuania has a rich multi-cultural and multi-faith history, which influences the worldview of Lithuanians today. We cherish and educate religious tolerance, which is one of the most important values in my country”, said the Ambassador.
