Issuance of a passport or identity card for persons who have lost their identity document

Issuance of a passport or identity card for persons who have lost their identity document

Documents are accepted only after prior online registration for an appointment.

A notification of loss of an identity document and an application for issuance of a new passport or identity card can be submitted during the same appointment.

The issuance of a passport or identity card takes up to one month from the date of application.

IMPORTANT: If a passport is lost by a minor child under 16 years of age, one of the child’s parents must apply for a new passport together with the child, presenting their valid passport or identity card. If the parent applying has an invalid or lost document, they must also apply for renewal/issuance of their own passport.

Required documents:

  • If both passport and identity card are lost, or if the only identity document was lost, any other document (if available) containing a photo of the person.

You will be photographed at the embassy. This service is free of charge.
