NEWLY BUILT SHIP-REPOSITORY "INDEPENDENCE" TO REFLECT LITHUANIA'S ENERGY SECURITY PRIORITIES
Klaipėda LNG terminal’s ship has been named Independence. A ship-repository, which was built in South Korea for the liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal in Klaipėda, has been named Independence, The Baltic Course informs with reference to the news agency ELTA. The ship was built at Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ltd shipyard in South Korea. “Today is a very special day for two reasons. The ship has been launched, which means all the interior works are completed. The second reason is that the name has been named Independence. The ship had to receive a unique name due to its size, uniqueness and its special purpose. We hope that such firm name will reflect a breakthrough in the Lithuanian gas sector and the sought-out independence from a single supplier,” Director General of ‘Klaipėdos Nafta’ Rokas Masiulis said.
