MOBILE CONSULAR STATION IN NORTHERN IRELAND WAS “MISSION POSSIBLE”.

On 23-24 May 2013 Lithuanian Embassy in London, in cooperation with Lithuania’s Honorary Consul to Northern Ireland William H. Sinnerton opened mobile consular station in Northern Ireland, Dungannon and Portadown.

Lithuanian  Embassy in London photoSuch initiative is not new and the diplomats from Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs went as far as Australia to provide consular services to Lithuanian nationals living overseas. Approximately 100 citizens registered to visit Counsellor Ugnius Labutis and Consular Officer Gediminas Radžius. The mission allowed provision of first hand professional expertise to Lithuanians living in N.Ireland. Enquiries were varied and diverse – from processing passport applications and issuing certificates, to advise about where to get married.

The Embassy intends to organise these missions in the future, covering more remote areas in the UK, information about this will be published on Embassy’s website and social media channels.
