7th September – The Music of Bronius Kutavičius. An evening dedicated to the famous Lithuanian composer in celebration of his 80th birthday presented by the London Santara-Šviesa Club. Bronius Kutavičius was born in the village of Molainiai, Panevėžys District, Lithuania on 13 September, 1932. The road from the village to fame in his own country and beyond was, in his own words, a long one. Today, as the composer of music ranging from miniatures to monumental opuses, he stands as a giant in the cultural life of Lithuania. Martin Anderson, the founder of Toccata Classics, and the conductor Gregory Rose will be taking part in a discussion on Bronius Kutavičius. A selection of the composer’s chamber music will be performed by: Orpheus Papafilippou - violin, Andrea Mundy - cello, and Rimantas Vingras – piano. The evening will be moderated by Romas Kinka.
