VIKTORIJA GRIGORJEVAITĖ PARTICIPATES IN THE INDEPENDENT LIVERPOOL BIENNIAL
18th – 27th October Viktorija Grigorjevaitė, a Lithuanian artist based in Liverpool, has been invited to participate in the Independent Liverpool Biennial exhibition Response, where she will present her recent work: a 92cm-26cm-26cm size installation consisting of a dead human-body-like figure made of an anatomical skeleton covered with raw meat. The body lies in a sealed glass tank. 'Unexpected guest' is a dead humanbodylike organism. Even in the absence of consciousness the human body is a complicated organism living a life of its own (slowly decomposing). Does this organism have the right to be among us? Is the shape (human-like) of the organism offensive? Is it an organism of a thing in the first place? How prepared are we to welcome our temporality as a guest?
18th – 27th October, Fallout Factory, 97 Dale Street, Liverpool L2 2JD. For more information, please, visit: http://www.falloutfactory.co.uk
