Viktorija Gečytė to perform at the Edinburg Jazz Festival
The Edinburg Jazz Festival presents Lithuanian Jazz Singer Viktorija Gečytė on Saturday 16th July, 7.30pm. The concerts will take place at St Andrew Square Spiegeltent, St Andrew Square, Edinburgh. An amazing singer, smart and sophisticated beyond her years, she bears comparison with the greats. Her voice is spontaneous, intimate, sensual and fun. She’s got great phrasing, impeccable timing; and she hits every note on the button. She loves the classic American songbook, and sings it as though the 1950’s had never come and gone – she’s a class act. Featuring legendary US bassist, Gene Perla.
Every year since 2008, Viktorija Gečytė with Go Trio have toured together and performed in New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Paris, Zurich, Vilnius, and other corners of the world. After all these years of cross-Atlantic collaboration, in May 2016, they released their first album: a story of a journey, of love and life breaking free, titled "No Detour Ahead".
