TWO “YES” PRINCIPLES - NETWORKING DISCUSSION WITH FORMER PRIME MINISTER ANDRIUS KUBILIUS
Today, 21st February 2013, former Prime Minister of the Republic of Lithuania Andrius Kubilius participated in the networking event organised by “Invest Lithuania” agency and the Lithuanian City of London Club at the Embassy of Lithuania in London.
Ambassador Asta Skaigirytė Liauškienė welcomed the participants of the event held on the eve of London School of Economics Baltic Forum by stressing the need to show what is best and what is most innovative in Lithuania, including highly skilled financiers with specialised global knowledge of the financial industry.
The former PM spoke briefly about the Lithuanian interests in the European Union, namely “Two YES principles – “yes” to deeper economic and “yes” to deeper political union. “Our attitude to Europe is naturally due to our geopolitical position. Therefore further integration into the united EU institutions and supporting the EU idea and its vision are priorities not only for Lithuania but for the whole Baltic Sea region”, said Andrius Kubilius.
He also talked about Europe being a bastion of piece, insisting on deeper political and economic integration, which in turn would guarantee stability, something which was envisaged by Conrad Adenauer.
