Tomas Venclova tours Britain and Ireland in March-April 2009
21, 22 April, 2009. Lithuania's Tomas Venclova, one of Europe's greatest living poets, tours Britain and Ireland this spring, following publication of The Junction: Selected Poems by Bloodaxe in 2008. He is accompanied by the editor (and one of the translators of) that book, the American poet Ellen Hinsey, who is also reading from her new collection, Update on the Descent. After the exciting reading sessions at the British Library, London and Poetry Now Festival, Ireland, in April Tomas Venclova and Ellen Hinsey head to Dove Cottage, Cumbria, to be part of Poetry in Grasmere readings. Their next stop will be the Newcastle University.
