THE EXHIBITION OF LITHUANIAN ARTISTS CREATING IN THE UNITED KINGDOM - “POŽIŪRIS” ('POINT OF VIEW') - OPENED IN LONDON

On 27th August the art exhibition, 'Point of View', was opened at RKB gallery, London. A significant number of the attendees were introduced to the artworks of the Lithuanian artists who live and create in the United Kingdom. The artworks differ in techniques, forms and themes – from textiles, illustrations and sculpture to creative writing. Noticeable experiences of a contemporary nomad, however, link all the pieces of art together. “Požiūris” ('Point of View') – is like a white sheet of paper that reflects the variety of young Lithuanian artists' points of view.

The exhibition presents analyses and connects them in order to combine a whole as if it was a game of connecting dots. Different connections reveal interesting different pictures that sometimes are not obvious straightaway. In the contemporary reality these dots as well as various angles of view are being affected by ever-changing factors that form the choices and shape the worldview of the young artists.

Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania Asta Skaisgirytė Liauškienė attended the opening of the exhibition and stressed the importance of Lithuanian artists' work in representing Lithuania in the United Kingdom. “I would especially like put emphasis on the role that your creations play in promoting multicultural perspectives and nurtures tolerance in our society”.
