“Talking about Jazz” with live music by Mykolas Viningas, Vilija Leitanaitė & band

Talking about Jazz” is for those who love, enjoy and/or want to know more about Jazz. Come to enjoy an evening of music and stories from people who live and breathe Jazz every day. Mykolas Viningas - saxophonist (born in Klaipėda) was introduced to music at the age of six and has played the saxophone since he was 14. He studied saxophone with Rolandas Vizgaudis at the Eduardas Balsys Arts High School and attended after-class lessons with local Jazz pianist Saulius Šiaučiulis. In 2012, Mykolas was selected to participate in the Travelling Youth Orchestra international project which took place in France and the Baltic countries. Currently he is studying the BMus Jazz programme at the Royal Academy of Music with Martin Speake and others.

Vilija Leitanaitė - a London based jazz singer, works with a live jazz band in London and South East England. A Winner of Lutenor Prize for Outstanding Jazz Vocalist 2014. Having studied Classical Vocals at the Lithuanian National Music Conservatoire for four years she realized that Jazz was not just a fling, but a deep burning passion, soon to be her profession. In pursuit of this career Vilija came to the London College of Music to study Jazz Vocals. She graduated in 2014 with a BMus with First Class Honours, and won the Lutenor Prize for Outstanding Jazz Vocalist the same year. Vilija holds a First Class Licentiate of the London College of Music. She is continuing her studies in Jazz Vocals doing a Masters MMus degree through a Scholarship programme. Her professional music career spans more than eight years.
