SIMONA SMIRNOVA SINGS AT VORTEX CLUB IN LONDON
26th August - Simona Smirnova (vocal), Živilė Kazlauskaitė (drums), Tomas Bura (piano) at the Vortex Jazz Club. The trio, which was created in London, will be playing both traditional jazz and compositions by Simona. The compositions by the vocalist are very dynamic and diverse in their musical styles. Simona started with her own project Bon Ton at the competition Jazz Young Power held in Vilnius in 2010. In her own music she is trying to find a connection between Eastern modes, aesthetics and philosophy and a unique Lithuanian sound. Her performances fluctuate from traditional jazz to avant-garde art projects, where free jazz, body art and other forms of expressions are blended. In the second part of evening, the audience will be able to listen to Swedish soul and pop music vocalist Emilia Mitiku.
