Recital by Evelina Puzaitė and Andrius Puskunigis at the Edinburgh Festivals

26 August, 2011. Evelina Puzaitė and Andrius Puskinigis are travelling from London and France respectively, especially to perform their Scottish Premiere in Edinburgh, having just launched their CD - “Schumann, Music for Piano and Oboe” - in France. They will perform at St. Mary's Episcopal Cathedral on Friday 26th August 2011 at 7:30 pm – a Festival of Spirituality and Peace event.

Evelina Puzaitė, a concert pianist, originally from Lithuania performs in order to inspire – brilliance, sensitivity and charisma sparkle from her piano keys. She has won more than 15 piano competitions and gives regular recitals at Wigmore Hall, The Barbican and Royal Festival Hall. Her talent also lies in composition, art, photography and writing. Her book, “Tempo Primo” - a collection of short stories and poetic insights, also featuring her own photography and art - will be available, as well as CDs.

Andrius Puskunigis, also Lithuanian, is a profoundly talented and moving oboe player. He graduated from the Music Conservatoire in Metz with the highest honours in 2005 and went on to specialise in orchestral oboe playing. He lives and teaches oboe in France and is currently principal oboist with the Heidelberg Symphony Orchestra.

Evelina and Andrius will play pieces from their Schumann CD, interspersed with a superb variety of international musical greats – Chopin, Rachmaninov, Liszt, Rossini, Piazzolla, and Prokofiev.
