Opening of Exhibition “Posters of The Vilnius Ghetto”
The Spiro Ark, The Jewish National Museum in Vilnius and The Lithuanian Embassy invite you to Opening of Exhibition “Posters of The Vilnius Ghetto” Sunday 11 November 2007, 6.00pm
These posters were produced by Jews interned in the Vilnius Ghetto announcing cultural events which they had created to keep their spirits up when physical conditions became unbearable.
Deputy director Rachel Kostanian of the Vilnius Jewish State Museum will talk on:
Sunday the 11 November, 6.00pm – opening of the exhibition + lecture “Spiritual Resistance in the Vilnius Ghetto”
Monday the 12 November, 7.30pm – Ponaria – film which deals with memories of neighbours and your observations to follow
Tuesday the 13th of November, 7.30pm – lecture “Life, Death and collaboration in the Vilnius Ghetto”
The exhibition will be on show for 4 weeks.
