NOTICE OF INTERNATIONAL TENDERS PROCEDURES FOR PREPARATION OF THE BEST BUSINESS PLANS OF AKMENĖ, KĖDAINIAI, MARIJAMPOLĖ, AND ŠIAULIAI FREE ECONOMIC ZONES AND THE STATUTES OF THOSE ZONES AND SELECTION OF THE GROUPS OF FOUNDERS
The Government of the Republic of Lithuania hereby announces an international tender procedure for the preparation of the best business plans of the Akmenė, Kėdainiai, Marijampolė, and Šiauliai Free Economic Zones and the statutes of those zones and the selection of the groups of founders (hereinafter referred to as the “Tender Procedure”).
The winning founders or groups of founders of every tender will have to set up a Free Economic Zone management company (hereinafter referred to as the “Company”), which will sign with the institution authorised by the Government of the Republic of Lithuania a framework agreement on the functioning of the corresponding Free Economic Zone for a term of 49 years and will be responsible for attracting investors who would establish industrial and/or service companies and create new jobs in that zone.
The Company will have the right to grant a permit for the economic entity’s operations in that zone, to sub-lease to companies operating and registered in that zone the land leased to the Company, to set up service companies in that zone, to set financial terms and conditions for the sublease of land and real estate and provision of mutual services, etc.
A detailed list of the Company’s rights and duties is provided in the legislation of the Republic of Lithuania regulating free economic zones.
Important information for the prospective tenderers:
- Tenderers are invited to submit their documents at the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Lithuania situated at: Gedimino Ave. 38 / Vasario 16-osios St. 2, Vilnius.
- The acceptance of tenderers’ documents ends on 3 December 2012, at 14:00. The envelopes will be opened on 3 December 2012, at 14:15, at the address: Gedimino Ave. 38 / Vasario 16-osios St. 2, Vilnius.
- Tender documents and information related to the founding of the Akmenė Free Economic Zone is available to tenderers at www.ukmin.lt/LEZkonkursai

- To secure the validity of the tender, the tenderer must submit a Tender Security and transfer it, before the expiration of the deadline for the submission of tenders, into the account of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Lithuania The value of the Tender Security amounts to LTL 100,000.00 (one hundred thousand litas).
