Newcastle businesses were eager to learn about the opportunities in Lithuania
On 10 -11 April 2013 the Lithuanian Ambassador Mrs Asta Skaisgirytė Liauškienė and the delegation visited Newcastle where they met with the Newcastle businesses representatives, possibly interested to invest in Lithuania. The meeting was organised by the United Kingdom Trade and Investment (UKTI) agency. After hearing the presentation on the latest updates in the Lithuanian business and investment environment the British companies, represented by consultancy, education and engineering sectors of the industry, expressed their eagerness to establish closer connections with Lithuania.
During the visit of Port Tyne, the Mayor of Klaipėda Mr Vytaytas Grubliauskas who was a part of the Lithuanian delegation briefly introduced the latest informatikon about the sea port of Klaipėda and encouraged greater discussion on possibilities for future cooperation between the two ports.
UKTI also organised the meeting with Newcastle Science City during which the Lithuanian delegation presented the Lithuanian scientific valleys and invited the representatives to come to Lithuania for the upcoming events in „Life Sciences“.
