14 June, 2008. Lithuanian pianist Martyna Jatkauskaitė returns back to Tunbridge Wells and as part of the Tunbridge Wells International Young Concert Artists Competition’s fundraising efforts. She will be giving a recital in Trinity Theatre on Saturday 14 June, 7.30pm. Martyna Jatkauskaitė won the competition in 2006, this concert follows her further appearance in King Charles the Martyr in May 2007 as part of the Tunbridge Wells Music Festival.
Since then her career has blossomed and, in September last year, she won the Jacques Samuel Competition between the London Schools of Music and the Royal Northern College of Music. She appeared at the Royal Festival Hall after winning the Martin Musical Scholarship and will have her debut concert at the Wigmore Hall in November of this year, also concert with the London Festival Orchestra in the Cadogan Hall.
Martyna’s recital will be attended by the Mayor of Tunbridge Wells, Cllr Michael Russbridge, and the Lithuanian Ambassador Vygaudas Ušackas.
