Martyna Jatkauskaitė at the Cadogan Hall and the Purcell Room

19, 25 March, 2009. Lithuanian pianist Martyna Jatkauskaitė has two important appearances in March. On 19 March as a part of the Virtuoso Piano Series together with the London Festival Orchestra (cond. Ross Pople) she will perform Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 24 in C minor. And on 25 March, as an award-winner of the Martin Musical Scholarship Fund, she will give a full recital in the Purcell Room, South Bank Centre.

The enchanting Lithuanian born Martyna Jatkauskaite has been awarded numerous international prizes, including the Carl Czerny International Piano Competition (Prague), First Prize at the ‘Konzerteum 98’ (Greece), First Prize in Roma 2000, First Prize in Vainiunas 2001 (Lithuania). More recently she was the Winner of the Tunbridge Wells International Young Concert Artists’ Competition 2006 and the Margaret Allen Prize at the Dudley International Piano Competition 2007.

Also in 2007 Martyna gave a recital in the Royal Festival Hall, sponsored by the Martin Musical Scholarship Fund / Philharmonia. In November 2007 she won the Jaques Samuel Intercollegiate Piano Competition and the offer of a Wigmore Hall debut in November 2008, a concerto performance with the London Festival Orchestra at Cadogan Hall and a recital at the Fazioli Concert Hall in Sacile, Italy.
