Alina Orlova, the singer of incredibly unique voice and a distinctive style brings her sensitive songs to the British audience. This most thrilling and promising singer/songwriter will be holding her first UK tour on the 28th-31st May.

Alina Orlova’s success story is comparable to those of the Arctic Monkeys and other acts that have propelled to stardom with the help of the Internet and word of mouth. A mere couple of years ago the idiosyncratic singer and songwriter was the best-kept secret known to a relatively small crowd of admirers.
This year Alina released her debut album "laukinis šuo – dingo" (the wild dog - dingo), which music critics predict as being the greatest album of the year in her home country. Her folk- and cabaret-tinged acoustic music might remind the listener of such diverse acts as CocoRosie, Cocteau Twins and Anthony and the Johnsons (all being her personal favorites), but it is really much more than just a sum of these influences – particularly because of Alina’s inimitable voice itself.
Noticed by the Travis front-man Fran Healy, Alina's song "Vaiduokliai" was picked up as one of the seven tracks to be featured on the digital-only EP, entitled “Play, Stop Rewind” released worldwide by LIPA Records. As part of the Liverpool Sound City festival LIPA Records is holding a showcase featuring Alina’s first gig in the UK on 28th May in Heebie Jeebies. She will also be playing in View Two Gallery on 29th of May. Alina and her band will play also two gigs in London on 30th and 31st of May.
Alina’s concert will be one of several links, connecting to European Capitals of Culture – Liverpool in 2008 and Vilnius in 2009.
