17 September, 2008. After her successful debut UK performances earlier this year Lithuanian singer Alina Orlova returns for an one-off London show on September 17th at Hoxton Bar & Kitchen. Her debut album 'The Wild Dog Dingo', which came out in Lithuania in January is to be scheduled for UK release early in 2009.
Since her first public performances three years ago she has made a deep impression with her unique sound and has become one of the Lithuania’s most respected and popular alternative songwriter. More recently drawn to the capital Vilnius Alina’s extraordinary music was immediately recognized through a host of music industry awards. In 2007 Pravda awarded her ‘Novice Of The Year’ and at the Alternative Music Awards she was nominated for ‘Break Of The Year’ and in 2008 for ‘Voice Of The People’.
Her sound takes in sinister violin melodies, playful piano, heartfelt lyrics and the most distinctive of voices. For the first time Alina will appear with her band:

This spring Alina took her talent abroad and she has attracted great international interest. She played Liverpool Sound City Festival and sold out London shows in May. In June she was invited to Europa Vox 2008 festival in France. She also has a strong following in Russia where she performed her solo show for a 1000 strong crowd in Moscow and at the biggest Russian cinema festival, Kinotavr, organised by Russian director Nikita Michalkov.
Alina has drawn attention from the world press including Russian Rolling Stone, Vogue, Huligan and Time Out, London.
This autumn she will be touring Europe, taking in France, Ireland, Switzerland, the UK and other countries.
Her London show is confirmed for Wednesday17th September at Hoxton, Bar & Kitchen.
