LITHUANIAN PRESIDENT DALIA GRYBAUSKAITĖ VISITED THE LITHUANIAN EMBASSY IN LONDON
27-30 July Lithuanian president Dalia Grybauskaitė was in London and visited the Lithuanian Embassy where she had a brief meeting with the Embassy's employees.
On Friday President Dalia Grybauskaitė participated in a reception at Buckingham Palace at the invitation of Queen Elizabeth II. During the reception, the Lithuanian leader communicated with Queen Elizabeth II and members of the Royal Family, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom David Cameron, and Germany's new President Joachim Gauck whom she invited to pay a bilateral visit to Lithuania.
On Saturday President met with Mr. David Lidington, the Minister for Europe of the United Kingdom to discuss cooperation between Lithuania and the United Kingdom within the European Union, Europe's economic situation and negotiations on the EU financial framework 2014 -2021.
On the last day of her visit, Her Excelency watched the 100 m breaststroke swimming finals and afterwards personally congratulated the first gold medal holder of London Olympics - Rūta Meilutytė.
