Lithuanian Poets Indrė Valantinaitė and Laurynas Katkus at Birmingham Literature Festival
Baltic Breakfast October 10 at 9:30 am - 11:00 am Baltic nations Latvia and Lithuania have very distinct literary traditions, informed by their complicated contemporary histories. We welcome novelist Pauls Bankovskis from Latvia, and poets Indrė Valantinaitė and Laurynas Katkus from Lithuania to share a selection of their work in English translation.
There will be short readings in all three languages, and to give an extra flavour of their respective cultures a light breakfast featuring dishes popular in the Baltic. This will be a unique introduction to these fascinating areas of important literary heritage.
