Lithuanian PM Ingrida Šimonytė meets with the British PM Boris Johnson in London

On 7-8 February, the Lithuanian Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė paid a working visit to the United Kingdom.

During her visit, the Prime Minister met with the British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and with the Secretary of State for Defence Ben Wallace. During both meetings the security situation in Europe amidst tensions caused by Russia’s military build-up along the borders with Ukraine and Belarus was discussed. The Prime Ministers of the UK and Lithuania also discussed the bilateral trade, economic relations and closer partnership at all levels.

During her visit to London, the Prime Minister also took part in the annual German Symposium at the London School of Economics, where she emphasized that the source of strength in democratic countries is unity and solidarity. The Prime Minister also met with the Lithuanian community in the UK and thanked them for their sincere work, patience and loving work in Lithuanian schools and philanthropic activities. The Prime Minister congratulated the Lithuanian community on celebrating its 75th anniversary this year.
