LITHUANIAN EMBASSY FOOTBALL TEAM WAS THIRD IN THE TOURNAMENT OF THE EMBASSIES IN LONDON
On 19 May Polish and Ukrainian embassies in London organised the football tournament to mark the upcoming European Football Championship that will be hosted by both countries. Among twelve participating embassies (Lithuanian, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Czech, Ukrainian, Russian, Danish, Austrian, Swiss, and Polish as well as the British team from FCO) the Lithuanian embassy team won the third place.
Deputy head of mission Mr.Sigitas Mitkus, who was also part of the team, noted that this victory will be remembered among the diplomats. “I am positive that today’s victory would not have been achieved without the help of Mr.Vaidotas Asmonas who is visiting London as part of the Minister’s of Agriculture delegation”, said Mr.Mitkus.
The team “Lithuanian” consisted of Edgaras Ivanauskas, Giedrius Tamašauskas, Gediminas Radžius, Valdas Venskus, Marius Baltiejus, Vaidotas Ašmonas, Algimantas Mitkus, and Sigitas Mitkus.
The winners of the tournament were the Spanish Embassy whereas British got the second place.
