LITHUANIAN AMBASSADOR VISITS EDINBURGH

On 26 – 28 September the Lithuanian Ambassador Dr.Oskaras Jusys and his delegation visited Edinburgh. In the meetings with the Presiding Officer of the Scottish Parliament Mrs.Tricia Marwick and the Lord Provost of the City of Edinburgh Mr.Donald Wilson the Ambassador discussed the main priorities of Lithuania in the upcoming Presidency of the EU council and presented the programme for the events in the Edinburgh city. The Lithuanian delegation also met with the representatives of Edinburgh International Festival, Creative Scotland, National Galleries of Scotland, Scottish Chamber Orchestra as well as the Lithuanian students enrolled in the universities of Edinburgh. During the final day of the visit, the Ambassador and his delegation visited the Napier University where he discussed the cooperation initiatives between the Napier and Lithuanian universities. The Lithuanian delegation also visited the Edinburgh Science Triangle where he presented the Lithuanian scientific valleys. “We always strive to initiate new cooperation projects between the Lithuanian and the UK scientific institutions”, noted the Ambassador.
