Tucked away in east London’s creative hotbed, acclaimed screen-printing studio Print Club London presents its sixth annual show, BLISTERS – The Paperback Edition, a book themed extravaganza to coincide with the launch of their first book ‘Screen printing The Ultimate Guide – From Sketchbook to Squeegee’ published with Thames and Hudson.
This Year the show is set to be bigger & better by bringing together a collective of 50 established and emerging illustrators, designers and street artists. The Paperback edition with exhibit screen prints inspired by some of the worlds most iconic books, including – Harry Potter, Alice in Wonderland, American Psycho and The Karma Sultra – with an opening evening set to once again draw the crowds from across London’s creative scene. All limited-edition screen prints will be sold at £50 each, all signed and editioned by the artist.
Artists were given a brief to submit a screenprint inspired by a favourite book, favourite author or quote from a book without referencing the book title or authors name, and over the course of the last six months, Print Club London’s curators have been inundated with over 1,000 entries. The final 50 have now been selected and include some of the industry’s hottest talent.
One of this year’s participants is a Lithuanian illustrator Justė Urbonavičiūtė whose poster is inspired by Virginia Woolf’s novel ‘Mrs. Dalloway’. It’s not the first time Justė has showcased her work in London this year. Back in June the illustrator participated in ELCAF, East London Comic Arts Festival, together with ‘Kitokia Grafika’, a risography print studio based in Kaunas, and presented her zine ‘Looking at Art’.
