HOMMAGE A SCHUMANN PERFORMED BY THE YOUNG LITHUANIAN MUSICIANS
Lithuanian musicians Antanas Makštutis (clarinet), Ugne Tiškute (viola), Morta Grigaliunaite (piano) to give a recital dedicated to Schumann on Tuesday 29 January 2013, 1:05 pm. at the Royal Academy of Music, David Josefowitz Recital Hall.
Written almost 140 years after Märchenerzählungen, Kurtág models his homage on the notion of Fantasie, used by Schumann. He employs the same unusual instrumentation which Bruch also admired and adopted for his Eight Pieces for clarinet, viola and piano, written towards the end of his life. The concert is free, no tickets required. More information
