Folkrock band Žalvarinis to perform at the Henley Music and Art Festival
On 11 July Lithuania's best-known folk-rock band Žalvarinis will perform at the Henley Music and Art Festival. The festival by the Thames takes place 8-12 July 2015, culminating in a firework spectacular.
The Žalvarinis band's music is a synthesis of archaic folk and contemporary styles of music from rock to blues. Exceptional, contrastive sound is produced combining ancient authentic folk music with modern music. Žalvarinis is the first Lithuanian band that will perform at Henley Music and Art festival.
The Henley Festival is a huge celebration of music and the arts, which has been held since 1983. The festival takes place on the banks of the Thames each summer. This exciting and eccentric event presents the biggest names in music and comedy. World-famous pop stars such as Jessie J, Lionel Richie, Gipsy Kings and Spandau Ballet will be performing at the festival. Visitors will find a wealth of artistic inspiration including a myriad of pop-up restaurants by some of the country's most treasured celebrity chefs as well as art, sculpture, champagne and an explosive display of fireworks that you are sure to remember for a lifetime.
