Everybody’s world is where they live, work and create at the moment. Some may have gone ‘to Europe’; Europe has come to the others’ homes. Tourist postcards with images of European cities have been enlarged and used as a background for photographs. They are exhibited in various places in Lithuania, thus a certain social space turning into a studio.
People of various ages and social groups are invited to pose in front of the camera during this photo-action. Dressed in clothes from Jolanta Rimkutė’s collection ‘LT Identity’ and having acquired the exceptional stature of a model they still remain honest and open and reveal a special ‘angle’ and ‘colour’ of their identity. Thus this series of photographs is a certain positive grimace, gently mocking at the all-important subject of national identity and everyday life that remains beyond the photograph. This is a glance at ourselves and our environment from outside and a critical reflection on who we are and where we come from.
