Evelina Puzaitė gives recital at Wigmore Hall

  Evelina Puzaitė performs solo piano recital at Wigmore Hall on 5 June, 7.30pm. This time the programme includes music by Clara and Robert Schumann, also pieces by de Falla and Prokofyev, the programme soon to be recorded and released as performer's 2nd solo CD on Landor Records.

Evelina Puzaitė has performed in London at the Royal Festival Hall, Barbican Hall, Purcell Room, Wigmore and Cadogan Halls, as well as at numerous venues across Britain. As a recitalist and concert soloist she has also given concerts in Cyprus, Germany, Greece, Israel, Lithuania, Russia, Serbia, Sweden, USA and other countries. Recent international festival appearances include Festival di Londra, Italy, and Presteigne, Wales. Her first solo CD (Moments Musicaux, Landor Records LR281) was launched in Autumn 2007.
 
Evelina was born in Vilnius. Her musical training was at the M.K.Čiurlionis School of Arts, Vilnius, followed by the Lithuanian Music Academy. In 2001 she was awarded a Baltic States Scholarship to come to the Guildhall School Music and Drama to study under Prof. Joan Havill. She has participated in many international competitions and has won numerous of awards, including: 1st Prize at the International Rubinstein Piano Competition, 1st Prize in Tel-Hai Competition in Israel, 2nd Prize at the Dudley Piano Competition, the Craxton Memorial Trust Award, and a Philharmonia Orchestra/Martin Musical Scholarship. She was a prize winner at the Oxford Music Festival, “Usedomer” in Germany and the International Piano Music Festival in Belarus.
