Embassy in London hosts annual meeting of Lithuanian Honorary Consuls in the UK

On May 6, 2015 the Embassy of Lithuania in London held an annual meeting of Lithuanian Honorary Consuls in the United Kingdom. The meeting addressed important issues of Lithuania-UK bilateral relations and presented a great opportunity to discuss the expectations of the Lithuanian diaspora in the UK.

“Honorary Consuls can play a very important role in strengthening bilateral relations between the countries. Therefore we are keen on having our Honorary Consuls in the UK well-informed about the ongoing processes in Lithuania, we seek to align their activities with the priorities of the Lithuanian state”, Ambassador Asta Skaisgirytė said.

The annual meeting of Lithuanian Honorary Consuls in the UK also included the official appointment of Alderman Sir Roger Gifford, past Mayor of the City of London, as the new Honorary Consul in Lyme Regis with the consular jurisdiction over the County of Dorset.
