Anton Lukoszevieze plays Lithuanian premieres at the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival
29 November, 2008. Three new Lithuanian pieces for cello and electronics by the composers Ričardas Kabelis, Justė Janulytė and Egidija Medekšaitė, written on commission from the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, await their world premiere on 29 November at the St Paul's Hall in Queensgate, Huddersfield. All three pieces will be performed by one of Britain's most adventurous musicians, Anton Lukoszevieze, who will uncover these fresh, new and challenging creative minds for British audiences. Lithuanian music has been present at Huddersfield for three years in a row, previous introducing the unique creative world of the Lithuanian composer Rytis Mažulis.

Also on 29 November broadcaster and writer Brian Morton will host a talk with the composer Justė Janulytė and Anton Lukoszevieze about the art of acoustic illusion in the work of the premiered Lithuanian composers, and the paradoxical combination of reduction and complexity in their music that makes it quite difficult to perform for live musicians, as well as to listen to in a concert setting.
