Antanas Sutkus launches his new book at the Photographers' Gallery in London

May 14, 2009. The new book Antanas Sutkus. Retrospective will be launched on May 14, 6 pm at the Photographers Gallery. This publication is the most extensive to date of the work of one of Lithuania's most celebrated photographers. As master of monochrome documentary photography, Sutkus' lucid and extraordinary images of everyday events in his Lithuanian homeland have been compared to the humanistic approach of Henri Cartier-Bresson and Andre Kertesz.

The 360 photographs in this book are laid out chronologically, creating a strong context for his classic images.
