Ambassador visits Manchester
16th March, 2017. The Lithuanian Ambassador in the UK Asta Skaisgirytė paid a working visit to Manchester. During her visit the diplomat met with the Deputy Lord Mayor of Manchester Eddy Newman to discuss area of bilateral cooperation in Research & Development. She also visited St Ann’s Hospice which has established close links with Lithuanian palliative care specialists.
Ambassador Skaisgirytė also visited the University of Manchester where she met the deputy Vice-Chancellor of UoM prof Colin Bailey to discussed potential exchange programs for Lithuanian and Mancunian researchers in health and life sciences. The visit at UoM also included a public talk titled ‘Security Challenges in Northern Europe’.
Before returning to London, the diplomat met with Lithuanians studying in Manchester University.
