Ambassador to visit Scotland

On June 4-5th, 2014 the Lithuanian Ambassador Asta Skaisgirytė Liauškienė will pay a visit to Scotland. The visit programme includes meetings with local entrepreneurs and governmental representatives as well as with Lithuanians living in Scotland.

The two day visit kicks off with a discussion at Glasgow Chamber of Commerce followed by the meeting with Bailie Gerald Leonard, Deputy Lord Provost of Glasgow. The Ambassador will then head to the University of Glasgow to deliver a public lecture titled 'Beyond Lithuanian EU Presidency: Quo Vadis Europe?’. The diplomat will also visit the Life Science Research Centre to discuss the possible cooperation between the Scottish and Lithuanian scientists in the field of Research and Development.

The June 5th meetings will take place in Edinburgh. The Ambassador will attend the signature of bilateral agreement between the Royal Institute of Architects in Scotland and the Lithuanian Union of Architects. The visit concludes with the Ambassador’s meeting with Rt. Hon. Donald Wilson, Lord Provost of Edinburgh.
