On 24 June 2013, Ambassador of Lithuania in the UK took part in the International Committee meeting of the British Jewish community.  The agenda of the meeting consisted of discussions about the priorities of the Lithuanian Presidency of the EU and the international politics (Iran, Peace Process in the Middle East, Arab spring).  Ambassador also presented steps taken by the Lithuanian government in fighting Anti-Semitism, developing the Holocaust educational programmes and in the implementation of the Good Will Compensation law.

The head of the diplomatic mission underlined Lithuania’s commitment to preservation of the national historic and cultural heritage and initiatives aimed at fostering closer links with the Lithuanian diaspora. “700 years old Lithuanian Jewish heritage is extremely important to our country”, said the Ambassador.

On 2 December 2013, for the third year running, Litvak Days will be held in London to discuss the Jewish history and culture as well as preservation of the rich and vibrant Lithuanian Jewish heritage.
