Alina Orlova at Eurocultured 2009 in Manchester
May 24-25, 2009. Alina Orlova will take the main stage at the Eurocultured festival 2009 in Manchester. Her folk and cabaret-tinged acoustic music might remind the listener of such diverse acts as CocoRosie, Cocteau Twins and Anthony and the Johnsons (all being her personal favourites), but it is really much more than just a sum of these influences – particularly because of Alina’s inimitable voice itself. A 20-year-old Lithuanian singer with “an incredible, high-thrilling voice and a unique line in exhilaratingly dark, Baltic folk pop” (Time Out) on May 24, 3.30 pm will play at the main stage of the festival and on May 25, 3.30 pm the band appears at the live music venue “The Thirsty Scholar”.
