In December, the Lithuanian Embassy in London together with the Lithuanian Youth Association in the United Kingdom, Lithuanian Foreign Affairs Ministry and ‘Lithuanian Business Confederation l ICC Lietuva’ completed the project the aim of which was to establish the closer economic links between Lithuania and the United Kingdom by implementing the ideas suggested by the Lithuanian youth.

It was a student from Lithuania Egle Vinauskaite and her idea to create a short video movie that was selected by the organising committee as the winning project to be implemented. The movie presents the foreign businessmen’s insights on the business environment in Lithuania and people there, alongside the examples of the achievements of young Lithuanian talents. 

The Lithuanian Ambassador Asta Skaisgirytė Liauškienė was very positive about the final cut: “It is very delightful to see the great result produced by pro-active and talented young people. This movie will be uploaded on our website as well as on our YouTube site, and will be shown in the business conferences and events taking place at the Embassy.”

The representative of the Lithuanian Youth Association Adomas Malaiška was also very pleased with the result: “It is great to see this short, but effective movie that not only showcases the capabilities of our youth, but also presents first-hand impressions of the foreign businessmen. I believe it was a very successful initiative of the Embassy and our Association that involved the young people and revealed their talents.”

The author of the winning idea and the director of the short movie, Eglė Vinauskaitė says that she was pleasantly surprised to see the enthusiasm of young people in Lithuania to get engaged in this project: “Shooting of the movie was a very interesting and rewarding experience. I hope that young people in Lithuania will continue their active involvement in similar projects in the future as well.”
