EXHIBITION OF JEWISH CULTURAL HERITAGE BY NAOMI ALEXANDER

A new book of drawings and paintings by artist Naomi Alexander that richly evokes the world of Jewish Lithuania is to be displayed alongside her forthcoming exhibition at the Lithuanian Embassy that starts on October 11. The exhibition then goes to Lithuania and around the world.

Naomi Alexander ROI was the first painter in residence at Europos Parkas Sculpture Museum in Vilnius and chose to paint the Jewish culture of Lithuania, its homes and synagogues. The book follows her travels around some 25 towns and villages and is filled with her drawings and observations about the places she visited and the people she met in the homes where Jews once lived.

Naomi Alexander ROI exhibits regularly at the Royal Academy, the New English Art Club and the Mall Galleries. Her works are in collections worldwide, including the Duke of Devonshire’s at Chatsworth and the Sultan of Oman’s. The Victoria and Albert Museum has three of her paintings. She lives in North London.
