LITHUANIAN PERFORMERS AND COMPOSERS AT THE MUSIC FESTIVAL IN WALES

The Vale of Glamorgan Festival is a contemporary music festival based in and around the county of Vale of Glamorgan in Wales. The festival was founded in 1969 by Welsh composer John Metcalf, who is the Artistic Director to this day. This year’s festival runs from Thursday 9 – Saturday 18 May 2013 and presents international line up of artists from Mexico, Lithuania, Estonia, France and the UK. The programme will be a mixture of day and evening concerts plus talks and discussions designed to give audiences the opportunity to hear directly from the composers themselves and discover the stories and inspiration behind the pieces being performed. Events will take place at a blend of formal and informal, ancient and modern venues including concert halls, studios and churches – each chosen to offer an ideal setting to hear the pieces of music performed.
