Lithuania's Foreign Minister Landsbergis is paying a working visit to Riga

On 15 September, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis is visiting Riga, where together with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvičs, will participate in the 2022 Balts' Award ceremony.

The Balts’ Award was established in 2017. It is conferred annually on Lithuanian and Latvian citizens for their contribution to and achievements in translation of the Lithuanian literature into Latvian or the Latvian literature into the Lithuanian language. The award is also given to teachers of the Lithuanian language in Latvia or of the Latvian language in Lithuania, as well as to researchers of Lithuanian and Latvian tangible and intangible cultural or historic heritage, and investigative journalists writing about Lithuanian and Latvian history, culture and tourism.

In Riga, Landsbergis will also take part in the presentation of a study on prospects of cooperation between the two countries, which was initiated by the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania and Latvia.
