    Belize receives Lithuania’s contribution to the Hurricane Lisa  Relief Fund

    On 19 January, Belize’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Immigration held a solemn ceremony during which Belize received a contribution from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania to the Hurricane Lisa  Relief Fund. The fund was established to help the people of Belize recover from the natural disaster - Hurricane Lisa.

    Lithuania’s Honorary Consul to Belize Carlos Perera handed over a symbolic check to Ambassador Amalia Mai, CEO of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade. Colonel Shelton De Four, National Emergency Coordinator for the National Emergency Management Organization, also attended the ceremony.

    As a sign of solidarity and support for the victims, Lithuania allocated EUR 20,000 in humanitarian aid to the people of Belize affected by the hurricane.

    On 24 February 2022, the Government of Belize condemned Russia’s illegal, unprovoked and unjustified war of aggression against Ukraine, and urged Russia to withdraw troops from Ukraine.
