    Baltic Symposium 2018: The Baltic States in a Changing Europe

    'Baltic Symposium 2018: The Baltic States in a Changing Europe' is the 9th Baltic Symposium co-hosted by the UCL School of Slavonic and East European Studies and organised by the Baltic Council in Great Britain and the Embassies of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania in London.

    Following the 100 years celebrations of the Baltic countries in 2018, the three working panels at the symposium will discuss lessons for the future from the past, relationships and also economics and public policy aspects.

    We are pleased to annouce that the keynote speech will be delivered by Urmas Paet, Member of European Parliament and former Foreign Minister of Estonia (2005-2014).

    Confirmed speakers include:

    Arūnas Gelūnas, Member of Lithuanian Parliament and former Minister of Culture (2010-2012)

    Arto Aas, Member of Estonian Parliament and former Minister of Public Administration (2015-2016)

    Dr Kristina Spohr, Associate Professor at the Department of International History, The London School of Economics and Political Science

    Dr Martiņš Paparinskis, Reader in Public International Law, UCL Faculty of Laws

    Simas Čelutka, Director of European Security Programme, Vilnius Institute for Policy Analysis

    Martiņš Vaivars, CEO, Toneboard

    Dr Maria Mälksoo, Senior Lecturer in International Security and Director of Research and Ethics, Brussels School of International Studies, University of Kent
