DEVELOPMENT OF DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS
On 12 December 1922, the United Kingdom recognized Lithuania de jure.
On 27 August 1991, the United Kingdom recognized the re-established independent State of Lithuania.
On 4 September 1991, diplomatic relations were re-established.
DIPLOMATIC REPRESENTATION

From 23 October 1991 to 23 June 1993, Vincas Balickas was the first Ambassador of Lithuania to the United Kingdom after the re-establishment of diplomatic relations.
As of 12 November 2012, incumbent Ambassador Asta Skaisgirytė Liauškienė is Lithuania's representative to the United Kingdom.
From the side of the United Kingdom:
From 17 October 1991 to 16 November 1994, Michael John Peart was posted as the first Ambassador of the United Kingdom after the re-establishment of diplomatic relations.
As of 28 June 2011, the incumbent representative of the United Kingdom to Lithuania is Ambassador David Hunt.
